Soccer Coach Education
There are two national organization that provide soccer coach
education opportunities: the United Soccer Coaches Association of
America (USCA, formerly NSCAA) and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
Both of these organization provide coach education classes
throughout the year for coaches at all levels. At TVSC, we have
found both programs worthwhile and that the USSF program
focuses more attention on the skilled player that wants to be a
coach, whereas the United Soccer Coaches does not require that the individual
be a solid player themselves, but instead wants to learn to coach.
As part of the club's mission, TVSC hosts one, or two, coach
education courses as to enable all our coaches to be certified from time to time based on interest.
All TVSC coaches and volunteers that complete these courses
are reimbursed for the course, with the exception of the USSF C and above license and United Soccer Coaches National and above certification. At TVSC, coaches are assigned
to teams based on their level of certification and years of
experience.
TVSC has certified coaches ranging the USSF level E to the
United Soccer Coaches National level. We also have a couple special topic certifications, such as goal keeping.
A current list of NSCAA classes can be found here:

A current list of USSF courses is found under coach
education at the EPYSA website:
